Hotel History

The building was originally constructed in 1926 as the Hotel Manger. In 1931, it was renamed The Taft Hotel, and it was rumored to be the largest hotel in Times Square at that time. Adjacent to the hotel was the famous Roxy Theater, renowned as the biggest theater of its era. In the 1980s, the hotel was converted into a mixed-use building, which includes 448 condominiums and 179 guest rooms.
